Birth Details:
William was born on 2 July 1910 at Broken Hill, NSW. He was the sixth child of George and Nessie May.
Marriage:
Married Hilda ? before embarking for overseas military service during World War II.
Military Service:
During World War II, William was taken prisoner by the Germans in Greece, and was interned for the duration of the war - about five years. The Prisoner of War Camp was located in Austria and was called
Stalag XIIIC'.
Issues:
George (V) and Kenneth. One other name unknown.
Comment:
William was quite inoffensive person who suffered ill health from his internment. On returning to Australia in 1945, his marriage to Hilda broke up. He lived, thereafter, a quite existence at Collaroy, Sydney, with a woman who had a son to him.
